Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay in Arrowtown, I was intrigued by the hotel's blend of traditional charm and modern amenities. Nestled conveniently in the heart of town, it provided easy access to picturesque walks along the nearby stream, allowing me to enjoy a leisurely afternoon. My room, albeit with a view of the parking lot, was ideally situated to immerse myself in the local culture. The staff's responsiveness was notable, as I seamlessly changed rooms after my first night. I did encounter a delay upon check-in when the owner was preoccupied. This small hiccup aside, interactions with staff were generally satisfactory. Dining in the on-site restaurant was a highlight; being served by the owner and her daughter created a homely atmosphere. I recommend the kiwi roast and chicken Parmesan, which added a delightful local flavor to my experience. This establishment offers a unique stay that marries historic aesthetics with modern conveniences, making it a potential choice for travelers seeking both comfort and cultural immersion.
